The Discover Academy just had a blast at the State Fair in Dallas! Hmmmm....what did we learn? Well, we learned that a pig can be taught anything a dog can. In fact, we saw a 1,000 pound boar that wiggles it's ears when people wave to him, can sit and lie down on command, and can grunt when told to speak. Of course, he was sleeping when we saw him, but he was still quite a sight! We learned all about the raising of cattle for food and milk, as well as the raising of chickens and chicken eggs. We saw an amazing dog show and learned about gravity and centrifugal force at the Midway! :)
Ian amazed a room full of people in the Planetarium with his knowledge of Greek Mythology as we learned about the night sky in Texas. The children are all ready to go camping somewhere away from the city now so we can actually see the sky like that. None of us had ever seen the milky way in the night sky. It's a new mission!
Finally, we really enjoyed the Butterfly house. They gave us a handout with about 15 butterflies that could be found on the exhibit. I think they found all but one of the butterflies! It was very educational. Thanks to Daddy for letting us tag along on your business trip! You're the best.
